| Beginner ![]() | NOTE: For any damage to your psp dont blame me. Do note that anything inside your psp are easy to order new online.(dont ask me prices) NOTE: ONLY FOR PSP FAT(1000) Red: Watch out here. Green: You need Tools for this. Blue: Tips. Step 1: The tools needed. 1. A small screwdriver (for size check ur psp screws) 2. A small flathead screwdriver 3. A cloth 4. doctor / proffessor gloves (rubber ones) To avoid fingerprints Note: Yellow is not needed but handy Step 2: We will now be removing the: Faceplate 1. Use your screwdriver to unscrew your frontplate. You have to remove 7 screws total. For the location of these screws please check the pictures attached to this TuT. 2. After u have removed the 7 screws u can just take off your psp frontplate. 3. Make sure u keep all the screws and dont loose any of them!!! Step 3: Buttons. 1. This is very easy, all you do is just take out all of the buttons. 2. The analog stick is not that hard either there are 2 screws located at the back of your analog stick. Remove them, After removing the 2 screws turn over your faceplate (to the front) and pull the top of the analog stick. Dont break it, if you feel like you're breaking it then dont continue and read again if you're doing it right. Step 4:* At this point put on the gloves (If u have them) This is a long step cause i'll be going right through it and make little steps inside this step, This step includes: Removing the LCD screen + All the chips etc, until you reach the backplate. NOTE: Make sure you're in a not too dusty room and You have washed your hands. 1. Remove the "R" And "L" Triggers located at the top of your psp.You can just pull them out. Use your flat screwdriver to remove the contact of the "R" button. Only the "R" button 2. Remove the lower button bar using your flat screwdriver and just flipping it up. 3. Remove the contact of the lower button bar by simply flipping open the black switch with your flat screwdriver and taking out the contact. 4. Removing the LCD screen, You also need your flat screwdriver for this. Release the side latches of the LCD screen that is holding the LCD screen. Do this by placing your screwdriver ontop of the latches to flip out your LCD screen a little Do this at both sides 5. Use your flathead again to release the switches holding the LCD screen's contacts under the LCD screen. PUT YOUR LCD SCREEN BETWEEN THE CLOTH TO PREVENT SCRATCHES AND FINGERPRINTS!! 6. Removing the LCD plate, Use Your screwdriver to remove the 7 screws located on the plate. Open the UMD door to release the LCD brace. 5. On the Left bottom side of your LCD brace there is a transparent little bar DONT LOOSE THIS. 6. Now we will get to the motherboard. First unscrew the top left button pad, (1 screw) Dont forget to undo the contact by turning the black switch with your flathead 7.Take out the speakers using both your screwdrivers and wiggling them out, DONT BREAK ANYTHING You can also GENTLY pull out your speakers by just pulling the wires DONT BREAK THEM 8. Now remove 3 contact on the motherboard just flip them open. (no pic for this just flip open the 3 contacts) NOTE: The middle contact has 2 small switches on the side flip them both open. 9. Next take out the other button chip. You will see a sticky paper contact at the place of the "R" trigger button, Peel it off (DONT BREAK) 10. Unscrew the screw on the yellow thing (where you put in your charger to charge psp) Peel off the black stickers holding the cables, and leave it for now. 11. unscrew the upper screw on your motherboard.Flip out the motherboard at 2 holes near the left speaker. Dont break the cable that runs across the motherboard just push it aside and flip out motherboard. 12. Remove the motherboard support by removing the 3 screws at the left of your psp. 13. take out the plastic clip at the lower left of the MB chip (under the 3 screws you unscrewed) 14. Pull out the MB chip There is a tiny cable that is connected to the motherboard dont break it. Take out any Memory stick that is in the psp to prevent breaking anything 15. Remove the UMD door by pressing it up at the bottom with your flathead and wiggling it out. 16. Unscrew 4 screws at the back where the UMD door was THESE SCREWS ARE SO SMALL YOU NEED A SMALLER SCREWDRIVER!!!! DONT FORCE OR YOU'LL BREAK IT ( i broke 1) Take it out and VOILA! You're done removing faceplate + backplate + buttons. Note: For memory stick cover mod unscrew the last screw and take out the memory cover, Remember how it was placed! Remove the rubber and stick it on your new memory stick cover. Thanks for reading this Tutorial, And please do not copy it. I did not mark all the screw places because like the frontplate you only need to unscrew all screws and thats all 7 needed also i'm sorry for not being able to put pics in the whole TuT but my camera broke and now i'm fixing that ![]() ![]() This TuT is belongs to Popo productions and making any copy of it will make Popo VERY MAD!. For reassebling your psp, Follow all the steps but start at the bottom and work your way to the top.

Or maybe you put them in too hard when u had your faceplate off before, well if u had it off before... a little tip: When u take off faceplate dont forget to clean that aswell as your LCD screen might be dustfree but your faceplate wouldn't. ![]()
