PSP Tutorial: Upgrade from 3.90 m33-3 to 4.01 m33-2

This is a tutorial for PSPs wanting to upgrade to the latest

version of custom firmware PSP.

If you're running on 3.71 m33 or higher and wants to

upgrade..this is the tutorial for you..

What you'll need:
1. First you need to download all these:
The 4.01 m33-2 installer:
[Only registered users can see links. ]
[Only registered users can see links. ]

The 1.50 kernel add-on (for Phat PSPs only):[Only registered users can see links. ]

The 4.01 Official Firmware Update:
[Only registered users can see links. ]

and the 1.50 Official Firmware Update:
[Only registered users can see links. ]
*If you have a Slim..Do not download/install the add-on..

2. next is to extract them to your desktop using WinRar..
= extract 4.01 m33-2 installer
=1.50 kernel add-on for 4.01 m33
= 4.01 OFW Update..
=the 1.50 OFW Update doesn't need to be extracted..

........................................ ........................................ ..............................

3. Connect your PSP to your PC..

4. Once connected, at the root of your PSP, drag the 1.50 OFW Update..

5. Next is to drag the UPDATE folder of the 4.01 m33-2 installer to PSP/GAME..

6. Also drag the 150k_installer folder of the 1.50 kernel add-on to PSP/GAME..

7. Next is to rename the 4.01 OFW Update to 401.PBP..

8. Then drag 401.PBP to the UPDATE folder you just dragged to PSP/GAME..

9. Disable USB Connection and run the
4.01 m33-2 installer..

*Note: Make sure you plug-in your AC Adaptor in doing the UPDATE..

10. Press X when told to and it should install the new custom firmware..

* It will look like you're just updating to official firmware but it is installing the custom firmware..

* At this point, your CXMB themes for whatever CFW you have will no longer work..so you have to install CXMB themes that is compatible for 4.01 m33-2..

11. Next is to run the 1.50 kernel add-on ..(Phat PSPs only)

12. Press X when told to and it will install the add-on for playing homebrew and stuff..

13.After you followed all of these, you now have 4.01 m33-2 with 1.50 kernel add-on..


AND YOU're DONE

anychance you could update them as a tut is no good without the files

Idk what the problem is with vbulletin............the links to work, but, when copying the links from within vbulletin, it likes to remove the forums bit Happens on most forums I go on
Anyway, i sorted the links out now, should be fine

The video doesnt work? I wan't to see it, as even though you have instructions there... they aren't exactly very clear could confuse a noob like me lol
