| Phgamer: "In Asia’s gaming culture, piracy has been common place for every major game console since the NES. In the mid 90’s a device called the UFO, allowed ROM games stored on floppy disks to be played on the SNES via a disk-drive like device that sat on top of the SNES. The 32-bit era saw the rise of mod-chips and insane swap-tricks to get past CD region lockouts. Not much has changed in the generations that followed. Even today, the Xbox 360, Wii, DS and PSP have all fallen victim to heavy piracy. The advent of torrent sites and faster download speeds don’t do the major players any favors either. The PS3, on the other hand, remains a different story. I have been keeping an eye on the local pirating scene, and with almost a year after the PS3’s release, it appears to be the only console piracy free. On that note, I have concluded these reasons for the PS3’s success in the anti-piracy war". [Only registered users can see links. ]

| Gaming Guru ![]() | I didn't read on but they have been able to extract the information from a PS3 game and make it into the ISO but the game is sooo large that on my computer it would most likely take a week to do all of that. If you would go through all that trouble to not buy a game. You need to kill yourself and sell your PS3 to someone else.

| Some one will pirate the Ps3 sooner or later. just a mater of time. I know a few Hong-Kong Asian friends who have most consoles with pirated games.

| The main two reasons are the system's complexity and the the 50GB disc capacity. I myself have ripped a few PSP games and those are only about 1.7GB. Many PSP ISOs are compressed into CSOs that can go down to about 700MB. 1GB max. Think about how long it takes to pirate a PSP game. (With all the leeching torrent bastard...) Now think about the same thing...but you're trying to download 50GB. It would be nuts. However, I hear Dark_Alex is getting to work on the PS3 systems. I hope for the best. Though...I'm not really for piracy. I hope more homebrew is enabled. Maybe this time he'll forget the ISO loader.
